NEXT EPISODE: 4 – BRIDGE I

I was still trying to figure out how I was gonna draw Kaiya, I do like the bulky way I drew here here still. But keeping that up is gonna be hard. I didn’t have time this week to do more with this episode so I didn’t get to finish this part.
Here’s our character sheets we used! I cleaned them up recently. Audrey drew Kaiya and I went over it with the vectors.
This is a fun alternate version of the story set in 1984, where on the way to their honeymoon, Connor and Bridget get stuck in the soul trap. In this version, Shannon is a nun. I thought it was a fun touch for the vibes. It still fits her character, and I feel like it helps make her goal in this version of the story more direct. I imagine the themes around this version would be a lot heavier on the “Why does God let bad things happen” argument, and would revolve around his mourning process. I think there would be a really interesting variety of opportunities to explore themes around science and religion, with Connor being a Man of Science. Real shame, it looses the entire relationship between Connor and Bridget and would be an entirely different story. But nonetheless, it’s fun to think about!
I daydream about this AU while I draw flats and listen to this song.

Hello, Hello!
Dearest listener, I am so excited to be the one who gets to tell you about this wonderful new podcast we are creating. It is a very, very silly and.. well, quite frankly, surprisingly serious adventure where my team and I (and, regrettably, also my… wife and child) head out for an exciting uh… vacation to my homeland, RUSSIA! I am not at all afraid or concerned for me and my family’s safety, but rest assured, you will be entertained, no matter the casualties. What can you expect from this trip you ask? Well, a short series of 9-10 episodes following me, Dr. Sokolov; Kaiya Amano, my student, an impressive quirk biologist; and Todd Waylen, our… new bodyguard, I suppose. Also, my family. I don’t know if I mentioned but I am… very excited for them to join me, and am very comfortable and okay with them coming along on a trip to the place I left for no other reason like a horrific, evil government who could and would kill me if I or my loved ones stepped out of line. I trust it all and would not label it dystopian at all.
This journey was recorded by a little crew of close friends a little over two years ago, and… after the… vacation… I… decided it would be best to proclaim the events here as a fun little lighthearted chronicle of my greatest regret. Very fun! I highly recommend following along. We will be posting the first three episodes on October 10th, 2024. From there, it will go up every other week until the chronicle is complete!
Ha!
-Dr. Alexi Sokolov
The opening of the first episode. We are planning on displaying a storyboard of about 1-5 minutes of the dialogue every 5-10 minutes while watching. Here’s part of the opening, done!
The sketch of the intro theme. We’re all pretty pumped about it, its currently being finalized into clean, crispy artwork. But for now, this is what we have to show.
